It's really cool not working

Lets see, I'm pooped right now, but I've done some things, so as long as I don't actually feel like sleeping, I can write.

I went to my friend Dani's house on Thursday, and spent the night. I've known Dani since 10th grade, and after taking a year off, she came to RIT, but flunked out. Now she's going to be going to college back home. She means well, and is a pretty good friend. Also, her entire family loves me; it's a little creepy. Her mom actually said something along the lines of "It's too bad you're not a real Jew," because she would love for me to marry into the family.

Anyway, most people would find visiting her to be really awkward, but I don't mind it. It's kind of funny.

On Sunday, I went to Ann's house. We made Black and White cookies (vegan, of course) and they were really good! I think it could have used more lemon, but that's just something to keep in mind for next time. I got to see her cats again, even the shy one!

Today, I finally got my good friend Aaron to buy Killing Floor, this game with zombies and teamwork. Took me about a week to convince him it would be fun for him to play with my roommates and I. We hung out with Ksenia, one of our classmates, and Matias, her fiance and a guy who went to our high school one year below us. (Between you, me, and the internet, I don't understand why they're getting married. It's not a very good couple).

Tonight was better. I went into the city to meet Kelly after she got off work. She works at a Scientology church. Yeah, yeah, total cult, whatever. She showed me around, and it looks very much like an office building from a TV show. Also, the front of the building looked like a storefront. But who am I to judge a religion I don't know a whole about?

After that, we went to the Shake Shack, a burgers and milkshakes place a few blocks from her church. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we got our food, and somehow managed to snag a table (it's really crowded there). I got a cheeseburger, fries, and a black and white malt (I love racial equality!). It was really good, but kind of pricy, though in New York, it didn't surprise me. After that, we walked through Times Square, and went into the M&M store. At one point, Love Game by Lady Gaga came on the radio. I know chocolate is supposed to be an aphrodisiac, but I don't think Lady Gaga, with all her sex lyrics, makes it more effective? Anyway, we left after about 30 minutes of looking around, and sat down at a table in the middle of Times Square. It was really good to catch up with her, since I'd only seen her once this summer. We walked to the bus station, and I looked for my bus once she got on hers, and came home.

I guess that fact that I've slept about 4 hours a night recently is catching up to me. I'm pooped.

Man, I haven't slept till almost noon in forever. It feels great. But I'll likely be up till 4 tonight.

Yesterday, I got Thai food for lunch, which i always love. Plus, here at home, the menu is more specific. I mean, I love Thai food everywhere, but when we get it up in Rochester, it always comes with all the veggies I don't like as much (brocolli for example) and then I feel so wasteful.

I didn't do anything else yesterday. I like not doing things. It's a good excuse for me to play video games all day.

Hi! Been a while.

Hello! It's been over a week since I last wrote! I'd say it's been because I'm busy, but that's not true. Anyway, lets start updating this, shall we?

Last week, I did nothing at work. I finished watching every episode of Static Shock, that cartoon from Kids WB with the black kid who inhales chemical fumes and gains electrical powers. However, Friday rolled around, and so I had to present a small poster entailing the research I did this summer. Honestly, when the judges came around, I don't remember what I said. I started talking. about 10 minutes later, I remember that I finished talking, and they seemed impressed. I was glad to get that over with, especially because Dr. Cody wasn't there. It's not that he scares me anymore, I just get more nervous talking to people about my work when he's around.

So Friday went well, and the pre-freshmen moved out. It'll be good to see them again in a couple weeks. That evening, I moved my bed over from Perkins to Bennington Hills, where I'll be staying during the school year. The weekend wasn't much more exciting. Well, it kinda was. We moved all of my stuff and Spencer's stuff out of Molly apartment and cleaned it up. The rest of my stuff went off campus, and Spencer took his things to his new apartment down the walk from Molly's.

Other than that, we went out Monday night for dinner, but our favorite restaurant was closed, so we went to a sushi/habachi place for dinner. It was alright, but Korean food is far superior. And today, I got up early, and took the train home! That's right, I'm home until the 29th, when I have to take the bus up and get ready for classes.

Till next time!

Hot Chip!

I'm posting now as opposed to later because I need to see if I can borrow something from a labmate. Anyway, I don't care about having to go to work today, because I just got back from the best concert I've been to yet!

Molly and I went from Rochester to New York to stay at Ann's house the past couple days, because we all went to see Hot Chip with Mike and his girlfriend.

It was so great! Holy Ghost and Hercules and Love Affair opened for them. Holy Ghost was ok, but Hercules and Love Affair were quite something. They were an electronica dance group with dancers, and one of them was this guy who was right in front of us and he just couldn't wear clothes the way most people do. Plus, he had white sweat-overalls? It was really interesting, and he stared at us (Mostly Ann for their entire show.)

On to Hot Chip- Firstly, Alexis brought his baby to the show, and she was wearing huge pink headphones, it was so great. Felix had a scooter, and Joe couldn't make it to the show because his wife was having a kid. They put up a screen for whenever he had to do backup vocals though. It was so cool!

They played most of the songs I wanted, but I already guessed a lot of their set list before they came out. When Over and Over came on, it was CRAZY. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mdgLn5BFRQ&feature=av2e)

Also, it was an outdoor concert. I think I maybe sweated like 2 pounds off. But it was worth it! At the end of the concert, Molly got one of the set lists that were left on the stage, and I got some tape that was holding down wires, as well as a beach ball that was floating around during the show. All in all, very worth twelve hours on the bus, especially because we got Thai food before the show.

That's all for now! It was great!

Bittersweet Return

I'm back from vacation! I had a great time, but Molly really didn't. And now she can't stand being near me for very long at all. It sucks.

Now I'm back to work for one and a half days, after which I'm going back to New Jersey to see a concert (Hot Chip!), and then coming back up here for the remaining 8 days of work. I hope the rest of this summer doesn't suck, I really don't feel like working anymore.

On vacation:
-Ate a Vermonster (that huge bucket of ice cream) with my family.
-Minigolfed once
-Went to the beach for about 3 hours each day.
-Gained back 6 pounds that I lost since summer started.
-Pissed off my friend by surrounding her with my family, who is way too friendly with each other.

That's about it, bye.
